Fashionista Friday: Jewelry

Jul 15, 2016

Happy Friday, y'all!

It's time for Fashionista Friday!!!

Today I'm going to show you some jewelry that I've been lusting after for a little while.

I love jewelry. I don't wear it like I would like to, or as much as you'd think I would considering how much I love it, but I guess I'm also just lazy. Plus, lately I don't seem to put too much emphasis on how I look because I'm not happy with my weight and how things look on me, so I try not to wear things that will bring a lot of attention to me.

Anyway, enough moaning and whining.
Let's see the jewelry!!

First up is this incredible ring. I have no idea where it came from or anything about it because I found the picture on Pinterest a few years ago and saved it.
But how cool is this ring?
Isn't that just the neatest thing you've ever seen?! I want one soooooo bad!!!

Next is this cool pair of earrings, which you can get here for only $45.00! I'm not much of a gold jewelry person...I prefer silver. But these are so interesting that I'd love to have them, even if they are in gold.

I saw this watch and just thought, "Oh, hell yes, I have to have that." Still don't have it, but I keep checking it out. And at $21.99, it's a steal! Maybe with my next paycheck I'll order it. I want it so bad.
Available here

So lately I've been seeing Kendra Scott jewelry on every body! I even saw it on an old lady at a 50th birthday party for a friend that I went to. I mean, this stuff is EVERYWHERE!!
And now I see why.
After checking out the website, there are some really pretty things that I'd love to have! One of my favorites are these drop earrings in black pearl. I could wear these with so many things, and they're so pretty!

I gotta admit, though, I'm becoming a big fan of the necklaces, too. I love this one, but the cost just isn't doable for me. I mean, $350.00?? Get real!
But I can dream, though, right?

I don't know about y'all, but I am SOOOOOO EXCITED that chokers are making a comeback. I was in love with chokers back in the day, and I still love them. I've never been one to be bothered by things around my neck, so I never had an aversion to chokers.
I really like this one...

And these, which I just found on Pinterest.

I also really like the layered and stacked look of these, also from Pinterest.

These stacks are a little extreme, but I still love them, and would gladly wear them, in the right situation, of course!

Other than earrings, I wear rings just about more than any other jewelry, and even then it's usually just one at the most. But I have a ton! I can't help it, I love them!
I especially love unique and different rings, and all the better if they involve an animal.
Here are some I love that I found on Pinterest.

And last but not least, I have to say, think what you want, but if I was a bohemian chick and could get away with this look, I'd totally wear it ALL.THE.TIME.
I love it.
For reals.
I love toe rings. Yes, I'm stuck in the 90's. And these anklets?!? Hello!!! GORG!!!!

Alright, ladies, that's it for today.

What's your favorite jewelry?

Who Doesn't Love Flula?!?

Jul 14, 2016

It's Thursday, y'all!
We just have to make it through this day and then tomorrow is Friday!! Yay!!!

I don't know about y'all, but this has been a hell of a week so far, at least as far as work is concerned. I'm so ready to end this week already and just start fresh next week.

So, in the spirit of lifting our perspectives up for today, I thought I'd show you some of my favorite YouTube videos.
I mean, we all could use a good laugh, right?
Seriously, what better cure for a bad mood than laughter?
I don't know about you, but a good, hearty belly laugh always makes me feel better and brightens my day, if only for a little while. String enough of those little moments together with a continuous day of laughter, and you've got a great day!

So, on to the funnyness!

Now, if you haven't heard of Flula, the German guy who does videos on YouTube, you are missing out.
But fret no more, friends, because I'm about to introduce you to him, in the absolute best way possible!!!

Flula has his own channel on YouTube. He sings, he gives his opinion of American sayings, he answers questions.
I just can't get enough of Flula.
And neither will you, once you see these videos. LOL!

#1. Jennifer is a Party Pooper
OMG!!! Is that not hilarious?!? He is just soooo disturbed by the fact that Jennifer is a party pooper. He takes it so literally, not like the saying that it really is. By far my favorite Flula video.
I showed this video (and the next two, as well) to my boss, and we were both in tears, laughing so hard at them.
If you don't laugh while watching this video, I'm serious when I say...
We can't be friends.

#2. Black Guy Pees, I Will Not Eat You
Bahahahaha!!! Miscommunication at it's finest!

#3. Santa, Do Not Visit My Town Please
Okay, I know it's nowhere near Christmastime, but this video is just too funny to miss. I love this guy!
Who knew Santa was a stalker and a pedophile?

Ok, so I'm sure you've seen the Diet Dr Pepper commercials on TV, with Lil' Sweet.
To be perfectly honest, I didn't like the commercials when they first came out.
But now, I giggle every time they come on. Some of them are just absolutely priceless.
The best part is that my boss saw me drinking a Diet Dr Pepper one day at work, and now he calls me Lil' Sweet, but he always says it in the sing-song voice, like the commercial.

This is my favorite of the Lil' Sweet commercials.
Lil' Sweet "Laundry"
The whole "Lil' Sweet goin' back into the spin cycle" phrase has been on repeat at the office for a while now, and I crack up everytime!

I also love this one with Lil' Sweet:
Lil' Sweet "Playhouse"
I love the part where the guy's like, "Is that our cat?"

So what about you? What are some of your favorite YouTube videos? Share them with me!

Wednesday Wishing & a "STRANDED" Link-Up!

Jul 13, 2016

Well, hello lady!

Guess what? It's HUMP DAY!!

Which also means it's Wednesday Wishing time.
And today is doubly good because it's also the second Wednesday of the month, which means...
It's time for another edition of STRANDED!

So let's start with the wishing, shall we?

Wish #1:
I wish my roommate wasn't so conceited
and self-centered.
SERIOUSLY! For those of you who are new and haven't read back a bit, I recently went through a what-I-thought-was-going-to-be-a-breakup with my boyfriend, but really just turned in to me moving out, which I plan to do for a few months while we figure things out and slow our relationship down, see if we can make it work. Anyway, I moved in with this girl that I don't know very well but we're semi-friends/mostly acquaintances. Don't judge...I'm poor, and this was the best offer I found. But this chick is SO conceited! And so self-centered, for REAL! It's ALL about her, all the time. Whatever. I can deal, but it does get annoying sometimes, and I'm glad that I spend the night with my boyfriend at least 2-3 times a week. Plus, she eats all my damn food.

Wish #2:
I wish that this coming Sunday wasn't my birthday.
No, I'm not weird, I'm just turning 35. Gah! 35!!!??? How is that possible? I don't feel adult enough to be turning 35. I seriously don't know if I feel like celebrating, because that's just scary.

Wish #3:
I wish I had the money to get my hair done.
It's been about 3 months since I had a haircut, and I'm in desperate need of one. For REAL!
But more than just a haircut to get this rat's nest I call hair trimmed and shaped up, I'd really love to get highlights. I miss my highlights! They were so cool, and I got so many compliments on them! Don't you agree?
Okay, I'll admit, this pic was about 3 years ago, and to be honest, my hair needed a good trim there. But I loved the colors then!! I miss that. I want it back. Maybe I can sweet talk my boyfriend into letting me get my hair done for my birthday, and that can be his gift to me, to life my spirits at turning 35. Lol!

Wish #4:
Oh, how I wish I hadn't started watching "The Bachelorette" this season!
Because now I'm hooked! I knew this would happen! That's why I never watch that show. I know it will suck me in, and that's exactly what has happened!!! Damn it!!
But who else besides me is rooting for Luke?
OMG, he's such a cutie! And so sweet!
Holy Hotness!
I know she's super-into Jordan, too, and Robbie is a cutie.
I'm so torn!
Whatever, I'm just glad she got rid of douchebag Chad.

Alright, enough wishing! Let's get down to the fun...

Stranded! With Shay and Erika

Let's get to the link-up!!

This is the deal, straight from Shay's mouth:
"The second Wednesday of every month, Erika and I share three things we would take with us if we were stranded on a deserted island."

Here are the topics, so you can jump in at any point:

Here is my post from last month's edition, Netflix series.

This month, it's about Famous People!
How fun, right?!

What 3 famous people would you want to be stranded on a deserted island with?

Hmmm...let's see...

#1: Kathleen Madigan
I don't know if you know who she is or not, but she is freakin' hilarious! She is a stand-up comedian, and I absolutely love her comedy. She will have me in tears. So if I have to be stranded on a desert island, I'm going to make damn sure I enjoy it, don't you agree? What better way to enjoy something than being entertained and laughing?

#2: Janet Evanovich
If you've ever read the "Stephanie Plum" series, about Stephanie Plum, who is a bail bondsman (bondswoman?), you know how funny and entertaining they are! There's, like, 23 books in the series, I've read all of them, and I wait on pins and needles for the next one in the series to come out. I love the books, and she also has other great series that are fun to read. She'd be a great storyteller on a deserted island.

Ok, I'm going to break the rules just a tad this time. It's my post, so I can do that, right?
Anyway, I'd bring Dean Koontz along as well, another of my favorite authors. He scares the shit out of me, seriously, and I think his imagination would make for great storytelling, too!

And finally...
#3: Kip Moore
Yum!!! Mmm, he's such a cutie! And I absolutely love his songs. He has a distinct voice, and his songs are so good. And looking at him sure don't hurt, either. It's gonna get lonely stranded on a deserted island with just 2 women. Not only will he be able to serenade me with his music, but he can use those muscles to help build stuff and hunt, and also as protection when the wilds of the island get to be too much to take and I need some snuggle time (wink, wink!).

So there you have it! My 3 famous people I'd choose to bring on a deserted island with me.

What are your 3? Link up and let us all know!!
